Family History

The Neve Family has been involved in the flower industry since the 1930’s, beginning with Lazaro Neve growing flowers in the Daly City area.  His son, Gianni Neve, came to Petaluma in 1966, purchasing the land at the current site, and built his nurseries to initially grow carnations.  In 1974, Gianni Neve began to grow roses until he died in 2001. Gianni’s son, Robert Neve, the 3rd generation, continued the rose production at this site, converting totally to hydroponic growing methods in 2002.  Sadly, Robert Neve passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2010.  The nursery is now owned and operated by Robert’s wife, Corinna, and their two sons, Anthony and Alex, the 4th generation, who proudly continue Robert’s legacy

Along with our hydroponic rose nursery, we also feature greenhouse gerberas, alstromeria, snapdragons, delphinium, Asiatic lilies and Oriental lilies, and a tulip program in the winter. We also grow a variety of outdoor seasonal field flowers during spring and summer, such as snowball viburnum, dahlias, sunflowers, and hydrangeas. In the last few years, we have moved towards more eco-friendly practices of sustainable agriculture.  We employ water conservation methods, we use less artificial fertilizers, and we are California Certified Producers. We are moving towards the use of biological agents in our greenhouse pest management system.

We are also in close partnership with rose growers in Holland to continuously refine and update our hydroponic rose operation.
